This past fall, I had a great opportunity to consult and work with Bryant Elementary School.
They were having a problem glazing and firing an Art Department/Science Department School Tile project. Students studying and researching botany were transferring their drawings of native plants to ceramic tiles. Because the glazes they were using contained lead compounds, Mississippi Mud offered to glaze and fire the tiles so that children would not have contact with the raw glaze.
What a fabulous result, these young artists and botanists did some striking designs with very vibrant color.
Mississippi Mud Studios would like to thank Bryant School for allowing us to be part of this fantastic project.
