Mississippi Mud Clay Supplies is another arm of the Mississsippi Mud Studio connection. The Mud has been successful serving a wide range of pottery and ceramic folks for five years. Our motto, even though we never set out to propose one is becomming. "If you want it, we can find it" Our customers know that Mississippi Mud Clay Supplies is more than just a distributorship. Sure we shop around to get the best pricing on materials. We've even been known to take a road trip to deliver products just to see what another artist or studio is doing. But more than that we take a genuine interest in our customers, to make sure what they want is what they need. Over the last couple of years, we've gone to repair kilns that were purchased from another supplier, we've brought samples of new products to customers. Heck, if we take a long road trip, its not unusual for us to do some throwing demos for High Schools or take some time to talk to customers about kiln firing or different fabrication methods. We just want to make sure our customers are getting the most out of what we sell. So what exactly can we sell ya:
Equipment, Wheels, Mixers, Extruders, Peter Puggers, Kilns, Refractories, Tables, Carts, etc
Tools
If we can't find it, I know a guy who will make it
Clay Prepared Clays from cone 06 to cone 11 Dry Clays Specialty Clays...(we can even make it for ya, maybe)
Raw Materials Clays Minerals Metals Chemicals
There is more, just ask...Did I mention sponges, yup, we got em natural and synthetic.
Today, Mississippi Mud distributes for Laguna Clay, Great Lakes Clay and Supply, Peter Pugger, Amaco Brent and Dolan Tools. Many people ask if they can get a catalogue from us. I am sorry to say that to roll up all that information and publish it for customers would increase our already low costs. The advice I'd give is to visit these suppliers' on-line catalogues. Pick the products you'd like and then contact me. I'll get them here as fast as I can. Here is the list of web links to suppliers: Laguna www.lagunaclay.com Great Lakes http://www.greatclay.com/ Peter Pugger www.peterpugger.com Amaco/Brent www.americanartclay.com
Shipping If you need materials right away. We have no problem getting anything you need fairly quick. Just remember that there are major price breaks for larger quantities. It is also more economical for customers to consider larger quantities as the shipping per pound is less for a pallet worth of product than say just 100#. Many shipping companies are also now charging a 'fuel surcharge' which ranges from 15 to 25% of the shipping cost. I'm sorry, but we also have to pass this on.
If you are somewhat patient about your order, one of the things I try to do is get multiple orders in the same shipment. I've been able to divide up the shipping cost based on the per centage of the entire order. I believe this also tends to save customers a good chunk of change.
Ordering Today thanks to Cathy, customers will be able to order simply by sending an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Of course, you can still call me at 563-590-5806. If I'm up to my elbows in clay in the studio, feel free to leave a detailed message and I'll get back as soon as I can wash up. The cool thing is Cathy has helped me get Pay Pal onto the web site. Once we can determine your order and generate an invoice. You can click on the payment button and take care of your bill for clay and supply orders on line. What a great benefit for you so that you don't take the hit with one check or go to the bank and drive all the way to see me with $50 bills. I like them but maybe paying on line is safer for both of us
